Overview

This article provides a step-by-step workflow for setting up and launching a Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulation using the Aspherix® Graphical User Interface (GUI) in under 5 minutes. The Aspherix® GUI is engineered to streamline pre-processing, enabling rapid setup of complex particle systems without compromising physics precision.

Key Workflow Steps

  1. Domain definition & import of geometry files
  2. Particle templates & generation
  3. Material parameters, contact laws & physics models
  4. Simulation settings
  5. Running the simulation
  6. Postprocessing the results

Resources & Documentation

All software packages come with a set of tutorials that demonstrate the usage of its functionalities. An overview of the GUI tutorials can be found here. The GUI tutorials can directly be loaded through the GUI, the examples for the other software packages can be found in the /examples folder of your Aspherix installation directory or the /tutorials folder of your CFDEMcoupling installation directory.

For in-depth technical documentation, command references, and solver settings, access the online documentation or your personal documentation in the installation folder.
